[ARCHIVED] Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk

Super Bowl Blitz 2025

The Miami Township Police Department is partnering with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to keep drivers safe on area roadways during Super Bowl weekend, February 9 – 10, 2025. Added enforcement will show zero tolerance for impaired driving and other traffic offenses.

“The Super Bowl is a special night of celebration, but we need responsible drivers on our roads,” Interim Chief James McCarty, said. “If you are planning to celebrate away from home, make a game plan to have a designated driver available. Party hosts need to have plenty of snacks and non-alcoholic choices available.”

Get ahead of the game and create your plan now:

  • Plan for a safe ride home before the party starts.
  • Designated drivers should be diligent and know when to take the keys away.
  • Call a rideshare, sober family member or friend to get home safely.
  • Always wear your seat belt and put the phone down!

The Super Bowl Blitz is funded through a 2025 Ohio Transportation Safety Grant awarded to the Miami Township Police Department. It allows officers to focus more attention on reducing traffic crashes and increasing OVI patrols. Other campaigns this year will include Click or Ticket and Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over campaigns.
