Miami Township celebrates its bicentennial on December 9, 2029. Our ancestors built 40 square miles of land annexed from Washington Township that sparked the prosperity our community enjoys today. What was once a rural landscape of tobacco farms and gristmills, is now a suburban mix of high-tech corporations, national retail and restaurants, mom-and-pop shops, and residential neighborhoods. As the township moves forward, it is also time to celebrate the past.
The celebration begins with a Bicentennial Logo Contest. One creative artist’s design could become the official representation of the township’s bicentennial celebration. The winning logo will be used on all public materials through the bicentennial in December 2029. The Call for Entries begins January 13, 2025. The deadline to submit an entry is February 21, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. The winning artist will receive a $500 prize.
