  Miami Township holds second annual Kids Fishing Derby
 Family-friendly event for children ages 4 to 15

WHO:             Miami Township Public Works, Board of Trustees, Township Administration

WHAT:          Miami Township hosts a Kids Fishing Derby with prizes, snacks and fun

WHEN:           Saturday, June 1, 2024
                              9 a.m. – noon (rain or shine)
                             Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m.

 WHERE:       Miami View ParK
                            5911 Munger Road

INFO:             The Miami Township Kids Fishing Derby is a free catch-and-release competition for children ages 4 to 15. The child who catches the longest fish wins a $50 gift card. Second and third place finishers each receive a $25 gift card. There is even a prize for the child that catches the smallest fish! The Community Foundation of Miami Township is the prize sponsor. Kona Ice and the Dayton Metro Library Miami Township branch will be on hand.
 
Spend the morning fishing along the fully stocked pond at Miami View Park, 5911 Munger Road. Participants need to bring their own fishing gear, including hooks and bobbers. Live bait will be provided. Don’t want to fish? Bring along a family picnic and enjoy getting to know your community leaders and neighbors. This event is free. Participants must make a reservation by emailing the participant’s name, age and phone number to publicworks@miamitownship.com or call (937) 866-4661.
