The Miami Township Board of Trustees approved a resolution at Tuesday evening’s board meeting, March 21, 2023, to adopt a final development plan for the first phase of a $146-million industrial/business park, First Flight Commerce Center, to the east of the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.
This first phase includes a 264,268 square foot industrial building, plus the extension of Washington Church Road south of Austin Boulevard that will accommodate the new development. The cost of phase one is approximately $27.4 million while the road extension is estimated to cost $2.5 million.
Northpoint Development, based in Missouri, plans to construct six buildings at the park by 2028. Upon the board’s approval, construction of the first building and road extension would begin this summer, producing approximately 100 jobs to start. At least 600 jobs are anticipated by the project’s completion in 2028. It will house manufacturing, research and development, and general light industrial employers.
