The Miami Township-Dayton Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) recently committed funding to several projects that benefit the township and its residents. The smooth ride along Washington Church Road is partly thanks to the Dayton JEDD. It contributed $30,000 to the project that repaved a portion of the road last year. It also contributed nearly $5,300 to replace a damaged school zone sign at the corner of Washington Church and Spring Valley.
The township announced plans in June to join a fiber optics network for faster and more efficient internet services. That project is ongoing thanks, in part, to the Dayton JEDD’s contribution of $50,000. The GATEway Fiber Network is a $3-million collaborative effort between the Miami Valley Cable Council, Miami Valley Educational Computer Association and the Independents Fiber Network.
The Miami Township-Dayton JEDD was created in 2005 to spur economic growth by sharing revenue through a partnership with the city of Dayton. It is one of three JEDDs the township is part of including the Miami Crossing JEDD and the Austin Center JEDD. The learn about the JEDD, visit www.miamitownship.com.
