Miami Township Community Development Director Christopher Snyder has been named the Montgomery County Township Association’s Economic Development Employee of the Year. The MTCA presented Snyder’s award during a surprise ceremony December 8 at the Miami Township Government Center.
“Chris was nominated by his peers and deservedly so. He serves on various community boards in addition to his work with the township. He is dedicated to growing our business sector and creating a livable community for township residents,” John Morris, MTCA board president and Miami Township trustee, said.
Snyder is a 20-year employee of the township having served as director of community development since 2014. He is certified through the American Planning Association and serves on several joint economic development boards.
“Chris is one of the hardest working people I know. He is a ‘first in the office, last out’ kind of employee,” Ron Hess, township administrator, said.
Snyder’s award is one of several handed out by the MCTA this year, including Administrator of the Year honors to Jesse Lightle of Washington Township, Finance Employee of the Year Mike Barlow of Washington Township, and Outstanding Business Partner of the Year Eric Heigel, store manager of Sam’s Club.
