Miami Township is working with the U.S. Census Bureau, the Dayton-Montgomery County Complete Count Committee and the Dayton Mall to help increase census response rates in the township and across the area. Over 70% of Miami Township residents have already filled out their forms, but we can do better!
To reach our goals, we will be hosting the Dayton-Montgomery County 2020 Mobile Census Unit for a two-hour event on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 4 – 6 p.m., outside the Dayton Mall. The customized van is equipped with internet Wi-Fi and six PC tablets to allow residents to complete their 2020 Census Self Response Survey for a complete and accurate count. Volunteers will assist people with filling out their forms while adhering to social distancing protocols. The event is free!
According to a recent study, every response in the Dayton-Montgomery County area brings in $18,000 in federal funds for each person over the next ten years. That means better roads, healthcare, school programs, housing, and better representation in Congress.
Some of our residents may not have easy access to the internet or have trouble filling out their form properly. The Census Mobile can help! The Dayton-Montgomery County 2020 Mobile Census Unit was made possible with a generous grant from the National League of Cities. A special thank you to the Dayton Mall and the Dayton-Montgomery County Complete Count Committee for making this event possible.
