[ARCHIVED] Township residents asked to conserve water

Water advisory conserve May 28 2019

From Montgomery County: UPDATE: May 30, 2019 at 9AM

The Montgomery County information hotline will reopen again at 9 a.m. today. The boil advisory is still in place. Please continue your water conservation efforts so we don't overburden the water system. While we are seeing some improvements, the system is still fragile and should not be overtaxed. Thank you for your patience as the City and the County work to restore your service and help our community recover from this natural disaster.

Montgomery County is a distribution system, meaning that we buy all of our water from the City of Dayton to distribute to our customers. Some areas of the system have lost water pressure and/or service due to the power loss at the City of Dayton water plants.

We do not have a specific time for water restoration or for the boil advisory to be lifted.

ATTENTION: Montgomery County Water Services is now directly asking all Miami Township residents to conserve water. Only use water for critical daily needs. Do not use water for unnecessary activities such as watering lawns and flowers, washing cars, windows etc.

And, you must continue to boil your water for at least one minute before consuming it. Here is a link to a Boil Advisory fact sheet by the Centers for Disease Control:

Here are two informative resources for your use: Montgomery County and the city of Dayton have a webpage dedicated specifically to tornado-related information here: https://www.daytonohio.gov/tornadoresponse. It is full of useful information about the water boil advisory as well as water distribution centers, and other ways you can help the victims of these devastating storms. You can also visit the county’s website for more information here: https://www.mcohio.org/.

The Montgomery County hotline phone number for general questions only is (937) 225-6217.
