February 1 is set aside each year to honor the dedication of elected officials and staffers who work diligently to serve their community. Enacted in 1998, the day recognizes the 1,308 townships in Ohio. 35% of Ohio's population reside in a township. Unincorporated Miami Township is home to 30,828.
