Miami Township's Kids Fishing Derby is a success! Thirty-seven children and their families arrived at Miami View Park Saturday morning, June 3, 2023, to try their hand at a round of fishing. The participants had three hours to catch the longest and smallest fish to win a prize. The winners are:
1st Place: Caden Smth caught a 12 inch fish - Won a $50 Cabela's gift card and a new fishing pole
2nd Place: Jeremiah Hough caught a 6 3/4 inch fish - Won a $25 Cabela's gift card
3rd Place: Joseph Wilson caught at 6 1/4 inch fish - Won a $25 Cabela's gift card
Smallest fish: Fox Valentine caught a 2 inch fish - Won a fishing tackle box
Congratulations to all our winners and each participant. A special thank you to the Community Foundation of Miami Township for sponsoring our prizes and supplying water and ice. And, to the Miami Township branch of the Dayton Metro Library for taking part in our event. The police department and Miami Valley Fire District stopped by for our Touch-a-Truck event.
