[ARCHIVED] Board approves electric aggregation rate

Trebel Energy

The Board of Trustees approved a resolution at its February 7, 2023, business meeting, to authorize an electric aggregation agreement with Energy Harbor as negotiated by Trebel Energy.

The fixed rate agreed upon with Energy Harbor is 6.99 cents per KWh for 26 months. This plan also includes a carbon free option for 7.29 cents per KWh for 26 months.

Energy aggregation programs provide a critical safety net for residents to guard against unexpected price hikes in the energy markets during the life of the contract. Miami Township is pleased that we can provide this service to our community.

The planned start date of the program is April 2023 through June 2025. Final details will be provided upon approval by the state of required program elements. Miami Township residents and small businesses who are eligible AES customers will be automatically enrolled in the program. Any AES customer will have an opportunity to opt out of the program. Residents already participating in another energy choice program are not affected.

This agreement is for electric only. Trebel Energy continues to watch the markets for natural gas and will bring forward a contract for natural gas service when they receive a competitive offer.

Eligible residents will receive information in the mail prior to the program start date providing them with instructions on how to opt out should a resident or business choose not to participate. The township will provide a page on our website for informational purposes only.

Address questions to Trebel Energy at (877) 861-2772.
