Crains Run Road remains closed to through traffic after storms caused damage to the road on June 19, 2021. Public Works Director Dan Mayberry advises that water runoff caused the ground to slip downward not the road right-of-way. It caused a 3-foot deep and 80-100 feet long gash on the edge of the road. The township is applying now for grant money to assist in the repair cost.
Detours direct motorists to Dayton-Cincinnati Pike, Benner Road, Miamisburg-Springboro Road and Wood Road as alternate routes. It is unknown how long the road will be closed. Crains Run Road is one of the original roadways in the township. It was recently repaved in 2018. We will keep you updated on the road’s status on our website and social media.
