Former trustee and friend of Miami Township, Shirley Omietanski, passed away September 16, 2020. She served our community for more than two decades from 1976 to 2003 and was the first woman to sit on the board. Omietanski Park is named in her honor. The wooded park is located in the Villages of Miami subdivision.

Ms. Omietanski leaves behind two sons, Scott (Maria) and Mark, and one granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. In her published obituary, the family asks in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Miamisburg American Legion Post 165, in which she was a member of the ladies’ auxiliary.

Miami Township administrators and staff wish to send our sincerest condolences to the Omietanski family.
