The Community Foundation of Miami Township (CFMT) recently awarded its inaugural CFMT Scholarships to two graduating seniors who live in the township. Rachel Teasdale and Alivia Townsend are each the recipient of a $750 scholarship.

Rachel Teasdale is a 2020 graduate of Miamisburg High School. She now attends the University of Cincinnati and plans to major in pharmacy. Alivia Townsend is also a graduate of Miamisburg High School. She now attends Miami University and plans to major in nursing.

Both women are the first recipients of the scholarship which is administered by The Dayton Foundation. Graduating seniors from Miamisburg High School and West Carrollton High School who reside in Miami Township are eligible.

“There is no better way to support the Miami Township community than by helping its young people succeed,” Mark Keilholz, Community Foundation of Miami Township spokesperson, said. “The foundation cannot be more excited for Rachel and Alivia as they begin this new chapter in their lives. College is a costly venture and the foundation looks forward to offering these scholarships annually to students who need financial help to continue their education.”

The Community Foundation of Miami Township is a component fund of The Dayton Foundation. It offers charitable giving to township needs and community projects. While it is not asTownsend_ Alivia for CFMTsociCFMT-Teasdale_ Rachelated with the Miami Township government, it does work closely with them on community projects.

“The township appreciates the foundation’s commitment to our community and all that it offers. We want to congratulate Rachel and Alivia for being the first recipients of the CFMT Scholarship and wish them great success as they head off to college,” Ronald Hess, Miami Township administrator, said.
