Miami Township held a swearing-in ceremony to kick-start the new year at its Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, Board of Trustees meeting. Terry Posey, Jr. is the newest member to the board. His father, Terry Posey, Sr., administered the oath of office alongside Posey Jr.’s wife, Lindsey.
Posey, Jr. is a long-time resident of Miami Township. He is a respected litigator currently working at the firm of Gottschlich & Portune, LLP in Dayton. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dayton Society of Natural History, as well as a member of its executive committee. He holds a juris doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
Selected from a field of five candidates, Posey was appointed by the board before the swearing-in. He will complete a term expiring in 2022 that was vacated by Trustee Donald Culp. Culp was sworn into a new term having successfully run in November 2019 for the seat vacated by former trustee, Douglas Barry. His new term expires in 2024.
Also, at Tuesday’s meeting, Trustee John Morris was selected to serve as board president in 2020 while Donald Culp will serve as vice president.
