Miami Township war veteran celebrates 100th birthday

Board of Trustees to proclaim July 24, 2017 as “Kenneth Snavely Day”

Brookdale Miami Township staff and community

                                               

WHAT:          The Miami Township Board of Trustees will join the Brookdale community to pay tribute to Kenneth Snavely on his 100th birthday. Trustees will present Snavely with a special proclamation naming July 24 as “Kenneth Snavely Day” during a birthday celebration at the independent living senior community in which he resides.

INFO:  Kenneth Snavely served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943-1946, working in Air Force Supply during World War II. After the war, he was stationed with the 415th Night Fighter Squadron in Germany as a supply sergeant. He returned to the United States where he retired as a staff sergeant. He is an active member of the VFW, having recently marched in Centerville’s Fourth of July parade. He also volunteers at Cox Arboretum. Snavely has three children and one grandson.
