For family reunions, company picnics, and similar events the shelter houses may be reserved at no charge. The Board of Trustees recently changed the first-come, first-served reservation policy to one that gives township residents and businesses the first opportunity to reserve shelters each year. Effective January 1, 2000, residents and businesses within the unincorporated areas of the township may make reservations on a first come-first served basis until April 15. After April 15 any person or business, regardless of where they reside, may make reservations on a first come-first served basis.
Permits
A permit / release must be obtained by everyone with a shelter reservation. This permit / release may be sent electronically upon approval of online reservations or may be picked up at the Miami Township Government Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. A key to the restrooms may also be checked out at this location for a $10 refundable key deposit.
