Special Projects

Spring Valley Pike Widening
Construction is underway to widen Spring Valley Pike from Tarpon Bay Drive to S.R. 741. Sidewalks and drainage infrastructure installation will be included with this project. This is an Ohio Public Works Commission Grant program that was approved in 2007. $741,000 in grant monies and $247,000 in local match will fund the project that is expected to be completed in the Winter of 2010.

Bike Lane Project
At the request of the Board of Trustees, the Road Department contracted the installation of bike lanes in the Exchange at Spring Valley area. The lanes are located on Hunt Drive, Ferndown Drive, Newmark Drive and Gander Creek Drive.

Public Works Facility Construction
Suspended.

Stroop Road Landscaping Joint Project
The Parks Department participated in a joint project with the City of Kettering to landscape and irrigate the islands on Stroop Road between Lamme Road and Tait Road. Contractors installed the irrigation system and planted low growing, low maintenance materials in groups of arched beds along the islands. The islands are maintained by Miami Township and the City of Kettering.
