For family reunions, company picnics and similar events the shelter houses may be reserved at no charge. The Board of Trustees recently changed the first come, first served reservation policy to one that gives Township residents and businesses the first opportunity to reserve shelters each year.
Effective Jan 1, 2000 residents and businesses within the unincorporated areas of the Township may make reservations on a first come, first served basis until April 15th. After April 15th any person or business, regardless of where they reside, may make reservations on a first come, first served basis. A permit/release must be obtained by everyone with a shelter reservation. This permit/release may be sent electronically upon approval of online reservations or may be picked up at the Miami Township Government Center, 2700 Lyons Rd., from 8am to 5pm on weekdays.
